WELCOME ALL GUESTS!
A big welcome to all guests of Atlantic Canada's Fastpitch Web Portal! We would like to send our greetings to all teams, players,
coaches, managers and especially the fans! Our new and exciting initiative
is all about promoting fastpitch softball here in the Atlantic Provinces and
also to share in our
excitement about the new direction that the International Softball Congress (ISC)
has given to our Atlantic Region.
For many years, we have worked hard to send teams to compete at one of the highest
levels of softball in the world to date, the International Softball
Congress. We have also worked hard to create other opportunities in the
North American Fastpitch Association (NAFA) as well as sending teams to the
Eastern Canadian Championships as well as the Canadian Nationals in the various age levels from youth to Senior
teams.
As with the start of any new website, we are trying to find a way to make this
as simple and easy to use as possible. We want to bring quality and up to
date information to fastpitch softball teams, players, coaches, managers and fans so
that there will be a better sense of information sharing happening within our
Atlantic Region.
We will strive to include as much detailed and up to date information as we can
in the numerous divisions, tournaments and leagues that will no doubt find
interest in our website and work towards creating an informative web site for
our visitors.
We thank you for taking the time to visit our Atlantic Fastpitch Information
Portal and encourage you to send your suggestions, comments and information as
much as possible in the effort to improve the communication between teams,
organizations and championship events that will occur throughout the run of each
year.

INTERNATIONAL SOFTBALL CONGRESS (ISC) APPOINTS NEW ATLANTIC
REGION COMMISSIONER
The International Softball Congress (ISC) has appointed a new Atlantic Area Commissioner,
Mr. Robert Bernard, to rejuvenate opportunities for fastball teams
interested in qualifying to attend the ISC World and ISC II tournaments that
will be held each summer. This year, the ISC World and ISC II Tournaments
are being hosted in Kimberley, Wisconsin from August 8th - 16th, 2003.
One of the key first steps to increasing these opportunities is getting
information out on what we are trying to do... start an ISC Travel League and
qualify one team in both the ISC World Division and the ISC II (Intermediate)
Division.
We will do this by working hard to inform teams in the Atlantic Region on a
qualifying tournament for both divisions to be held at a central location,
either in New Glasgow or Halifax, Nova Scotia or Moncton, New Brunswick.
Dates for this event are to be announced as we are working on hosting agreements
with these locations.

MAIN OBJECTIVES
We will be striving to work together with all teams interested in broadening
their horizons on where they would like to play, how they would like to play and
who they would like to play fastpitch
softball with in terms of level of play.
We want to create an information portal through the creation of this website for
fastpitch softball players from Atlantic Canada at the various levels that exist
in the communities and regions. We realize that we cannot be everything to everyone and therefore we would like
to say that this is an initiative that will be starting out small with realistic
goals for Year 1 (2003-2004).
In this website, we will be providing information on a number of different
initiatives that promote fastpitch such as the International Softball Congress (ISC),
the ISC II as this will mostly a site that will contain ISC information but will
also provide visitors with basic information on other initiatives such as NAFA
(North American Fastpitch Association), as well as information on the Canadian
Championships, Travel Leagues in the Atlantic Canada Region that are either set
up or are in the process of setting up and other information on Eastern Canadian
Championships in various divisions.
We will also provide linkages to fastpitch softball websites such as Softball
Nova Scotia and Softball NB, Softball PEI and Softball Nfld. We will be
contacting these organizations to establish up to date information flow for the
visitors of this website.
